The “Maple Leaf Mural” is a nod to Baldwin City’s best known tourist attraction and a core element of Baldwin City identity—The Maple Leaf Festival. The design incorporates an interactive element whereby visitors can place themselves in the mural and “wear the maple leaves.”

Timeline & Details: The all-volunteer committee comprised of 15 citizens and representation from USD 348, Lumberyard Arts Center and Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce selected the mural design and location. This was a $500 project with a lead artist and Baldwin High School student apprentice and a team of 11 citizens, with funding through the Maple Leaf Festival Committee.
